Infectionist Vladimir Neronov listed the dangerous diseases that can be contracted during the holidays. He reminded that travelers forget about prevention when traveling abroad, reports Gazeta.Ru.

The doctor noted that, first of all, when planning trips, it is necessary to study common diseases in a particular region. The expert warned that in underdeveloped countries there is a risk of contracting hepatitis A, the virus enters the body with water and food, through contact with infected people.

The doctor informed that parasitic infections such as dysentery, typhoid fever and diphtheria are common in tropical countries. These diseases claim the lives of approximately two million people each year. The expert advised eating in trusted establishments, drinking only bottled water, washing fruits and vegetables well with boiled water or the same bottled water.

Another dangerous disease that can lead to death is sleeping sickness. Its carrier is the tsetse fly. The infection is common in African countries.
