Pyotr Myachin, a former computer scientist and Vityaz special forces fighter of the Russian Guard, was put on trial after causing a scandal in a store, reports Kommersant.
The man returned from the Special Military Operations Zone (OSV) and went to a store on Shcherbakovskaya Street in Moscow, where he wanted to buy a pack of cigarettes for 200 rubles. However, the vendors refused to sell him cigarettes because the price was 19 rubles higher than expected and he did not have enough money. During the conflict, Myachin shot several times at the ceiling with a traumatic pistol, after which he was arrested by the police.
He is charged under part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or associated with resistance to law enforcement agencies). Myachin pleaded guilty and was placed under house arrest.
He faces up to seven years in prison, but his lawyer hopes he can reach an amicable agreement with the injured party. The military court extended the house arrest until June 17. Myachin’s lawyer, Valery Dzhokov, noted that his client nevertheless bought the necessary cigarettes in a nearby store, where the sellers did not argue with him over the price.
In Sevastopol, on April 19, the verdict was announced to Ismail Dzangiev in the case of attempted murder and violation of statutory relations – the man was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
