Russian leader Vladimir Putin has expressed support for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to him, he can set goals and go resolutely towards them, Russia supports him.

“This is another compelling example of all that you are doing, Mr. President, for your country, for the growth of its economy, for all Turkish citizens. I want to say it bluntly: you know how to set ambitious goals and confidently move towards their implementation… For our part, we certainly support this attitude,” Putin said.

Putin called the Akkuyu nuclear power plant the most important project of the Russian Federation and Turkey. He stressed that this project helps to develop economic and neighborhood ties between the countries.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has appeared on live television for the first time since an incident of illness forced him to cancel campaign events. Today, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he is taking part via video conference in a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the delivery of Russian-made nuclear fuel to the No. 1 power unit of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu.
