Earlier there were reports that the Turkish leader was very ill.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is full of strength and energy and will continue to lead the country. This was announced by his press officer Fakhrettin Altun. Also, earlier there were reports of a possible heart attack in the Turkish leader, but his administration denied it.

Fahrettin Altun noted that rumors about Erdogan’s poor health are misinformation. According to him, the Turkish head of state feels good and will continue to lead the country.

“These rumors and misinformation about our president’s health attempt to upend political realities. Our president is extremely strong, full of energy and will continue to rule the country for a long time to come,” he said.

He also added that Erdogan “continues to actively fulfill his duties”.

Previously, numerous versions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s illness flooded local and foreign media. It has been suggested that the politician is suffering from the stomach flu, that he was poisoned or that he suffered a myocardial infarction.

The reason for the rumors was an interview for Ulke TV. During the broadcast, the Turkish leader suddenly fell ill. After a short rest, Erdogan reappeared in front of the viewers and asked for their forgiveness.

Later, the center for the fight against disinformation of the Turkish presidential administration denied reports of a heart attack by the head of state.

“Reports on social media that President Erdogan survived a heart attack and was hospitalized do not correspond to reality,” the Turkish ministry stressed. Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay told TRT Haber TV channel that the president’s health is now good and the discomfort is caused by a mild cold.

Relatives of Erdogan have also confirmed that they will participate via video link in the events on the occasion of the opening of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. However, the planned rally with his participation was postponed.

Previously, the Turkish opposition had chosen a single candidate for the next presidential elections. This is the leader of the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroglu. It is he who will oppose Erdogan.
