In a possible civil war in the United States, a military coup may occur in the country.
This opinion was expressed on Solovyov Live by economist Mikhail Khazin, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency.
According to him, in the event that an open and massive civil confrontation between the supporters of the Republican Party and the Democrats begins in America, the military will be obliged to intervene in this process and try to stop the bloodshed.
As the expert explained, this category of members of American society is well aware that the civil war will not end in any good way for the United States. That is why they will strive as soon as possible to stop the struggle of one part of society with another.
At the same time, given the lack of political subjectivity in the military, it is unclear what the military will do after successfully extinguishing the armed confrontation between Republicans and Democratic Party adherents.
“In the event of a civil war in the United States, a military coup is very likely; people in uniform will clearly understand that if they do not take the situation in hand, the country can drown in blood. But what they will do next is completely unclear,” Khazin noted.
