Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak called the situation at the front a strategic stalemate. He believes that neither side has such an advantage to conduct large-scale operations and win the conflict by military means, reports InoSMI.
The general noted that since December, the RF armed forces have been preparing very intensively for the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the south. They mine, fortress every city, dig trenches and build fortifications. The Russians are ready for this and are waiting for the Ukrainians to strike in a southerly direction. The general believes that in this case the Ukrainians will be bled to death and will not be able to carry out defensive operations thereafter.
As for the possible actions of the Ukrainian side, the general asserts that the Ukrainians should fight in the Donbass region. Russian troops are the most vulnerable in this area, particularly in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) region (Bakhmut), where they are now on the offensive. That is why the advance grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can quickly cut off the Russian grouping from the main forces, encircle it and liquidate it.
However, according to the general, the Ukrainian counter-offensive must be effective, and this requires more Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades than are currently available. He stresses the need to increase the number of brigades to 19 for the counter-offensive to succeed. Otherwise, the Ukrainians will not be able to carry out a large-scale operation and win the conflict.
