She had previously been charged with large-scale tax evasion. The “queen of marathons” did not pay taxes in the amount of more than 918 million rubles.
Earlier, lawyer Aleksey Serdyuk commented on the criminal case against blogger Blinovskaya on our TV channel. He noted that in Russia, the court usually punishes citizens accused of tax evasion with a fine or suspended sentence.
And he added that real prison sentences under this article are very rare. Lawyer Serdyuk noted that “we have a fairly loyal state when it comes to tax crimes: if we correlate it with fraud, there is a much higher chance of ending up behind bars.”
The blogger was arrested early in the morning of April 27. She planned to cross the border with Belarus in the Smolensk region.
