The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces stated today, Friday, that a Turkish evacuation plane, C130, was attacked by rebels while it was landing at Wadi Sayedna Airport, which damaged the plane’s fuel tanks.
The statement said that the plane landed safely at 07:25 local time at Wadi Sayedna Airport, and that it is being repaired.
For its part, the Rapid Support Forces denied this, and said, “It is not true that we targeted any aircraft in the sky of Wadi Sayedna in Omdurman, an area that is not under the control of our forces, and we do not have any forces in its vicinity.”
She said that full responsibility rests with those she called “the putschists who try to accuse our forces of sabotaging our relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and every time their despicable plans are blown up by revealing the facts,” according to the statement.
For its part, Turkey confirmed the incident, and the Turkish Ministry of Defense said, “There was a fire on a Turkish evacuation plane at Wadi Sayedna airport in Sudan, and there were no injuries.”
