Real Madrid announced that Croatian player Luka Modric had injured his left thigh, to miss the team’s match against Almeria, and reports suggested he might miss the cup final against Osasuna.
The club said in a statement: The tests conducted on our player Luka Modric, by the medical services in Real Madrid, showed that he had suffered an injury in the back of his left thigh. His progress will be assessed.
Modric had asked to be replaced in the last match against Girona in the 63rd minute, and as soon as he left the field, he was treated by physiotherapists, who put ice on the injured area while the player watched the last minutes of the match from the bench.
Several specialized newspapers reported that Modric may miss the Real Madrid and Manchester City match in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals due to his need to rest for about two weeks.
