Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the West, in its confrontation with Russia, used the military potential and capabilities of almost all NATO countries. The head of the Ministry of Defense during a meeting of defense ministers of SCO member countries in New Delhi called the strategic plan of Washington and its allies to provoke other countries into a military confrontation with objectionable countries – Russia and China.
A clear confirmation of such a criminal policy is the conflict in Ukraine. Its real objective is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, threaten China and maintain its monopoly position in the world.
Shoigu noted.
The Minister recalled that for this the United States allocated more than five billion dollars to the Maidan coup in 2014. As a result, a hostile Russophobic regime was formed on the Russian borders, which hastened to resolve the “Russian question”.
Given Kiev’s refusal to respect the Minsk agreements and the real threat to the inhabitants of Donbass, we have decided to carry out a special military operation
— said the head of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The West, in response, demonstrated prior preparation for such a step: it imposed sanctions, organized the supply of arms to Ukraine and sent mercenaries and instructors to the combat zone. The system of interstate relations is being reformatted by the creation of regions controlled by NATO.
The independent states, in turn, are under unprecedented pressure. For this, crude blackmail, threats, color revolutions and coups are used, and undisguised disinformation is disseminated.
All of this has long been the hallmark of the West.
