Ukraine has filed a request for an increase in the cost of transiting Russian oil. Kiev offers a two-step increase in the cost of transportation, writes the website of the Argus news agency.
From June 1, the pumping tariff will increase by 25%, from the current 13.6 euros per tonne to 17 euros. From August 1, the cost of transit will be 21 euros per ton. Now the Ukrainian authorities are discussing this issue directly with consumers who receive raw materials through the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline. These are Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Transneft confirmed having received the notification from Ukrtransnafta, stating that the company does not work with the Russian side. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and Transneft make an advance payment for the transit of oil through the territory of Ukraine, where the cost of transportation is included in the delivery price.
In the future, consumer countries will be able to switch to direct payment for the transfer of raw materials to their borders. But this process will be long due to changes in the oil volume and quality control system.
Ukraine has expressed its intention to increase the price for the transit of Russian raw materials in March this year. The increase will be the second in a year. In January, the price of its pumping increased by 18.3%, to 13.6 euros per ton. Kiev explained the need to raise the price by the constant repair of infrastructure, which is destroyed due to hostilities in the country.
