Wrestlers Protest: Today Delhi Police will file FIR against WFI Chairman Brij Bhushan Singh

Wrestlers Protest: Delhi Police has decided to file an FIR against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chairman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on the complaint of wrestlers. The Delhi Police has told this to the Supreme Court in this matter.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court that an FIR will be lodged today in the matter of sexual harassment allegations against the wrestling federation chief.

Let us inform that many players including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik had reached Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday (April 23). Since then he is sitting on strike. Wrestlers had also protested against wrestling association president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in January.

In this case, cricketers like Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag and Irfan Khan and Neeraj Chopra, who won gold medal in Tokyo Olympics, have tweeted in support of the wrestlers.

It is noteworthy that in January, the wrestlers demonstrated for the first time against the President of the Wrestling Association, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers were sitting on a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The president of the Wrestlers Wrestling Association was accused of running the union arbitrarily and sexually abusing many female wrestlers.

After this, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh was removed from the work of the wrestling association and a committee was formed to investigate the allegations against him. The committee submitted its report on April 5, but it was not made public. After this, the wrestlers again started demonstrating at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Sunday (April 23).
