Free admission to Victory Day will be a gift for visitors
During the May holidays, the Rzhev branch of the Victory Museum in the Tver region will change its working hours – from April 29 to May 9, the museum will be open seven days a week. At the same time, free admission on Victory Day will become a traditional gift for all visitors.
The exhibition pavilion of the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet soldier will be open these days from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (entrance for visitors until 8:00 p.m.), the Stalin Headquarters Museum – from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (entrance for visitors until 5:45 p.m.).
Schoolchildren under the age of 14 will be able to visit the branch of the Victory Museum free of charge during the May holidays. And on May 9, entrance to the Rzhev branch will be free for all visitors.
Guests of the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier, in addition to the memorial complex, can visit the museum and the exhibition pavilion. It is equipped with multimedia equipment, with which you can get acquainted with photographs, front-line letters, stories, memoirs of participants in the battle of Rzhev, as well as see rarities found on the battlefields of the Tver region.
Also, on the territory of the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier, events of laying flowers at the foot of the majestic monument will traditionally take place.
The museum “Stalin’s Headquarters” is located in the village of Khoroshevo, Rzhevsky district. This is a small wooden house where Supreme Commander-in-Chief Joseph Vissarionovitch Stalin spent the night of August 4-5, 1943 and first gave the order to hold fireworks in Moscow in l honor of the liberation of Orel and Belgorod during the Battle of Kursk.
The museum recreates the historical interior of the Great Patriotic War and presents an exhibition – military documents, photographs, personal belongings of soldiers and officers.
