Jammu and Kashmir: Allotment of 336 flats under PMAY in Jammu.|

Jammu. The Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board will allot a total of 336 houses in Sunjwan area to Indian citizens permanently or temporarily settled in Jammu under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Housing Board sources gave this information on Saturday. He informed that online applications have been invited from Indian citizens for Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC) at Sunjwan. A total of 336 flats are to be allotted under the PMAY mission to people living temporarily or permanently in Jammu for employment, education and long term tourist visit. At present, 96 of these flats are ready for allotment.

He said that this scheme is for middle and lower class migrants, tourists, students and other eligible people. Accommodation is available on rent in Jammu to the needy persons from any state of the country. Sources said that the allotment process will start from May next month, in which 96 flats will be allotted in the first phase and in the month of October, 240 flats will be allotted to the needy under PMAY.

Beneficiaries will have to pay a nominal rent for a house except electricity and water bills, which will have to be paid separately. He said that often non-locals come to the city for work or other engagements, but due to low earning many people cannot afford expensive housing, so this scheme will benefit them.

He said that the applicant can avail the benefits of this scheme by applying online on JK Housing Board’s websites (www.jkhm.in and jkhousingboard™jk.gov.in). Whose registration fee is five hundred rupees. Applicants can apply online till May 15 and final allotment will be done only after verification of original documents.

Presently 96 flats are ready for allotment and beneficiaries can avail this facility. In which there is a room, kitchen, hall and bathroom for a period of 25 years. After every two years, the fare will be increased by eight per cent. It may be noted that the flats were first constructed by the Municipal Corporation in 2014 but the construction work could not be completed and in 2021 the flats were handed over to the Housing Board for further execution.
