The thirty-seventh session of the Tunis Book Fair kicked off, and it was inaugurated by His Excellency Kais Said, President of the Republic of Tunisia, who met with His Excellency Prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Director General of Katara, where the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) will be the guest of honor for this edition, as the guest of honor of the institutions for this session, which will continue until May 7.

The current edition of the Tunis Book Fair is held under the slogan "Fly… with the wings of a book"This session bears the name of the former Minister of Cultural Affairs and the founder of this demonstration in 1982, the late Bashir Ben Salama, and it is chaired by Dr. Zahia Guero, university professor and director of the Institute of Tunis for Translation. The exhibition program includes many parallel intellectual and cultural activities. This year’s edition also witnesses the participation of 300 publishing houses, presenting nearly 500,000 published titles, amid assurances from officials of the Organizing Committee to ensure effective strategic relations with institutions and organizations that have valuable contributions to the field of culture in its comprehensive meaning that goes beyond the boundaries of the book and reaches knowledge of topics. And current problems nationally and internationally, such as sustainable development, environmental challenges, digitization bets, and others.
The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is participating in the exhibition with a distinctive pavilion, reflecting its pioneering role in spreading culture and heritage, through which it presents a set of new and distinguished works by elite Qatari and Arab authors, with the aim of encouraging intellectuals and writers to publish their creativity and writings, with the support of ( Katara) for writers and authors, and activate their role in enriching the movement of knowledge and culture in Qatar and the Arab world.
Katara’s publications vary between documentary books and heritage, scientific and literary works issued by the Foundation, as well as fictional works and critical studies that won the Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction during its previous sessions. While the Foundation is keen to open its arms to all creators to receive and adopt their products, research and valuable studies and publish them, with the aim of enriching the creative scene in Qatar, and providing it with new energies that contribute to enriching the movement of authoring, publishing and the book industry.
These efforts are in line with Katara’s mission to support talents and encourage them to write, research, author, and create, and to enhance knowledge and intellectual production in the State of Qatar, which contributes to enriching the Arab library with distinguished Qatari publications.
