MegaFon filmed a sci-fi anime series Eva. Communication over time. The premiere of the first season took place today in Kinopoisk.
The series was created using the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Unreal Engine technologies allow you to see characters from the film on set in real time against elaborate backdrops and photorealistic lighting. Working with the actors, the direction, the camera and the light is as close as possible to conventional cinema.
The series’ protagonist is Eve, an android from the far future, trying to save humanity from a man-made anomaly. The film takes place in different historical eras. To recreate Renaissance Florence, pre-revolutionary Kronstadt and ancient Syracuse, experts were involved, each place was created based on real topographical data and authentic languages - Italian and ancient Greek – sound in the frame.
Characters and animation were created by the creative team at It’s Alive Studio. The writers and directors of the series are Anton Utkin and Nata Pokrovskaya from Lateral Summer Studio. All male roles in the series were played by an actor in an Evgeny Markov motion capture suit, the role of Eve was played by Elena Khodunova. The roles were voiced by Alena Kahuta and Roman Evdokimov.
“Eva is a virtual assistant. It is a technological solution that constantly accompanies our subscribers – answers missed and unwanted calls, blocks spam, protects against threats on the Internet. Unlike other virtual assistants, Eve has a visual identity. We decided to try to popularize it not only through a standard advertising campaign, but also to experiment with other more innovative formats. Through the series “Eva. Communication through time, we want to create our own cinematic universe around Eva, “humanize” the technology, add emotions and feelings”, said Tatiana Gura, director of brand and marketing communications from MegaFon.
