Researchers are about to begin a rigorous study and experiment to prove whether a rapid, safe, and single dose of radiation can combat life-threatening arrhythmias or ventricular fibrillation.

Doctors from Washington University School of Medicine in America, through an experiment that began in 2017, are watching people who have undergone pioneering treatment for arrhythmia with radiation therapy, which is typically used to combat the cancer.

Jeff Backus is one of the patients who underwent this experience, and he is optimistic about the extent of his full treatment of the irregular heartbeat problem that has accompanied him for many years, and he now wears a pacemaker as a precaution. experimental radiation since last February and is still satisfied with the results.

According to doctors, the radiological procedure to treat arrhythmias involves using an electrocardiogram and CT scan, then shining a beam of safe rays called photons at the target area of the heart to restore a normal pulse.

The treatment called corpuscular ablation therapy has long been used in the treatment of micro-tumors and today offers great hope for cardiac patients suffering from sudden and life-threatening arrhythmias.

In this context Dr Muhammad Andron, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, said:

A normal person does not feel the heartbeat, so feeling it is certainly a satisfying condition. The condition ranges from psychological causes to serious illnesses that can lead to death. You should seek medical attention when you experience it and it recurs. The treatment currently available is drug therapy, with a cure rate of 50%. There is also a device that controls the heart and regulates its rhythm. The new X-ray technology is still being tested.
