Sports News: Hardik is like Dhoni in captaincy -Gavaskar

Kolkata. India’s legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar believes that Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya does not impose his personality on the team which makes him like Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Gavaskar said on Star Sports program Cricket Live, sometimes captains try to match their personality and the personality of the team. It is not necessary that the attitude of the team and the captain should be the same. He said, Hardik is not trying to impose his views on Gujarat Titans.

This is going to be his legacy as a captain. He resembles Mahendra Singh Dhoni a lot in this regard and has picked up some good habits from his former Indian skipper. Gavaskar believes that this quality of Pandya helped Gujarat make a strong comeback in the IPL despite losing a few close matches. Defending champions Gujarat Titans are currently third on the points table with 10 points from seven matches.
