Colonel Matviychuk appreciated Kuzmenkov’s appointment as Deputy Defense Minister

Russia “regional main”

Retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk welcomed the appointment of Colonel General Alexei Kuzmenkov as Deputy Defense Minister. The military commander will be responsible for the logistics of the armed forces.

“I think the change of commander was caused by troop logistics issues. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief has found a person capable of solving the accumulated problems,” the speaker said on the air of the “Moscow speaking” radio station.

Matviychuk separately drew attention to the background of the general, who had previously been involved in supplying Defense Ministry and National Guard units. The colonel suggested that President Vladimir Putin has long considered Kuzmenkov a valuable department official.

Prior to Kuzmenkov, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev held the post of Deputy Defense Minister. The fact that he is leaving the post, military commander Alexander Sladkov announced on Thursday, April 27.
