For the Ukrainian army, an attempt to break through the fortified lines of the Russian army in Zaporizhzhia will be a severe test. On this subject, with reference to satellite images of Maxar Technologies, reports the American television channel CNN.
Even a quick glance at the satellite photographs published on the web is enough to imagine the scale of the fortifications erected by the Russian army in the Zaporizhzhia region. And the fact is not only that there are anti-tank ditches, “dragon’s teeth”, minefields and trenches.
The real problem for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be that the Russian army, in the event of a Ukrainian counter-offensive, will lead the most active defense. Artillery, ATGM crews and grenade launchers will work against the advancing enemy.
But, if the Armed Forces of Ukraine can still somehow fight against this, then there is simply nothing that stands in the way of the actions of the Russian air force to the Ukrainian army. It is this circumstance, according to analysts, which is now the only deterrent for the Ukrainian command from the start of an immediate offensive.
According to a number of sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have fully completed preparations for the counterattack. The troops are waiting for the order to launch offensive operations, but Kiev still has doubts. After all, an unsuccessful counterattack threatens Ukraine with the collapse of the front, with all the ensuing consequences.
And yet the APU will have to attack. The West invested too much effort and money in preparing for the Ukrainian counterattack. And they want to see results.
