Mexico: Tourist bus fell into a deep gorge, 18 people died

Mexico City: At least 18 people have been killed and 33 injured after a tourist bus plunged into a gorge in western Mexico. The Prosecutor’s Office of Nayarit State has given this information. The accident happened on Saturday night on a highway connecting Tepic, the capital of Nayarit, and the city of Puerto Vallarta.

The Nayarit Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement on Twitter that 11 women and seven men were killed in the tourist bus accident. Another 33 injured were hospitalized, according to police, as the bus was traveling from Guadalajara city to Rincón de Guayabitos in Nayarit state’s Compostela municipality when it fell into a nearly 50-foot gorge. The case is being investigated.
