The Russian military has lifted an American MQ-9 Reaper drone from the bottom of the Black Sea, reports Tsargrad. The source of the publication told what secrets the United States entrusted to Russian engineers.
The publication notes that the MQ-9 Reaper (“Reaper”) is considered one of the best reconnaissance drones. Its cost is 56 million dollars. It can reach speeds of up to 400 km/h and stay in the air for up to a day. The value of the device is its most modern electronics.
Now, in the hands of Russian engineers, there was a whole range of “sensitive” American technologies. In particular, it is a turret optoelectronic complex, a surface electronic intelligence complex and other important components of the device. This was emphasized by the director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces, military expert Yuri Knutov. In his opinion, the drone software is the most valuable.
The expert suggested that the UAV was equipped with electronic intelligence equipment. It can record the frequencies of Russian radar stations, missile guidance stations, as well as radio communications. With such data, the US military is able to conduct direction finding and calculate command posts, headquarters and checkpoints. In general, all the filling of the “Reaper” is interesting, because “these are new technologies, quite serious”, believes Knutov.
“It is related to the fact that one of the airfields based on these Reapers is located in the west of Poland, that is, far from the border with Russia, so that we could not get any characteristic of the latter drones if it ends up in the zone of range of our air defense is somewhere on the border, ”explained the expert.
