UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can only damage the workshops of Russian nuclear power plants

According to military expert Mikhail Timoshenko, nuclear reactors can withstand a plane crash, so they cannot be destroyed by drones. APU attacks against Russian nuclear power plants can only damage workshops.

In an interview with URA.RU, the retired colonel explained that when building nuclear reactors they count on a plane crash, but there are still vulnerabilities.

  • Another thing is that these drones, for example, can enter the turbine workshop. This is where you can damage it. It is possible to damage the power-generating workshop, but I think the reactor itself cannot be damaged,” Mikhail Timoshenko said.

Mikhail Timoshenko also added that the purpose of UAF attacks on Russian nuclear power plants is to intimidate the public. The retired colonel stressed that Ukraine was trying to show that it was capable of destroying Russian nuclear power plants and repeating Chernobyl.

Previously, the Ukrainian armed forces tried to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant, located in the city of Kurchatov. The Ukrainian attack was repelled by air defense systems in the region, reports the Mash Telegram channel.
