World Food Program reverses decision on Sudan

“WFP is rapidly resuming programming to provide the life-saving assistance so many need right now,” WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain wrote on Twitter.

WFP said on April 16 that it had temporarily suspended all activities in Sudan after 3 of its staff were killed in clashes between the Sudanese army and paramilitary rapid support forces the previous day.

The World Food Program has warned of the risk of starvation affecting millions of Sudanese if fighting continues between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
