Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Demographer Krupnov explained the decline of labor migration in the Russian Federation by the impoverishment of the population

Russian citizens prefer to work in their native region rather than going to another city to earn money. Yuri Krupnov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Demography, Migration and Regional Development, explained the reasons for this behavior.

The first factor is the decrease in the number of the economically active population – citizens aged 18 to retirement age. Each year, the figure drops from 700 to 800 thousand people.

The second factor is the small number of young people in their twenties and thirties. This is up to one and a half times less than ten years ago.

“The third factor has to do with the fact that people’s financial situation has deteriorated over the past few years, especially over the past year. To leave, either high salaries are required, and you have a rental apartment. Either you sit down and look for what is left on the labor market in the region, ”concluded the interlocutor of the Govorit Moskva radio station.

Earlier, the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University provided data that in Russia 60% of citizens work, including after hours.
