flydubai: We have benefited greatly from the boom in the tourism sector in the UAE

In order to keep up with this tourism boom, flydubai CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith confirmed in an interview with Sky News Arabia that the company’s fleet will see the addition of 17 new aircraft this year to keep pace with the strong growth. demand in the region, to add to the 19 new aircraft that were added in 2022.

Al-Ghaith also said that the company recently added 12 new airline destinations to broaden its base and help send new tourists to the emirate in particular and the country in general. The company also plans to add new destinations this summer.

The company’s profits in 2022 had jumped 43% to 1.2 billion dirhams ($327 million), recording the highest profits in its history.

The company benefited from the significant growth in its revenues, which jumped around 72% on an annual basis, to reach 9.1 billion dirhams (2.5 billion dollars), thanks to the recovery in demand. travel, with the decline of concerns related to the Corona pandemic.

Flydubai said the number of passengers carried last year rose to 10.6 million, an increase of 89% over the previous year.

To cope with the increase in travel demand, the company has appointed 1,300 new employees in 2022, “in the company’s largest recruitment process in a year”.
