And the club tweeted on its official account on “Twitter” in which it said: “The Zamalek Club Board of Directors, led by Councilor Mortada Mansour, has unanimously decided to apologize for not participate in the Egyptian Super Cup, which is scheduled to be held on May 5 in the United Arab Emirates.
The club’s statement said Mansour confirmed the decision was “due to a series of uncompromising and ongoing decisions by the Football Association, beginning with the crisis of restricting winter offers and depriving the team of efforts of new players, leading to the crisis of the stoppage of player Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba.”
The statement added that Mansour “wished to apologize to the Emirates, the organizers and the fans of Zamalek and Al-Ahly, who booked the tickets for the meeting, stressing that the decision came to preserve the rights of Zamalek in light of the Football Association’s favoritism towards the other party.”
