Poland intends to obtain payment for reparations not only from Germany, but also from Russia

Poland wants reparations from Germany first, then can demand the same from Russia. This was stated by the head of the International Policy Office of the Office of the President of Poland, Marcin Przydacz.

According to him, after the end of the dialogue on the payment of reparations with Berlin, Warsaw could start a similar procedure with Moscow.

We believe that we can start a dialogue with Berlin, but with Putin, it’s another civilization. Once success has been achieved with Germany, the next step might be to start such a discussion with another oppressor.

  • said Marcin Przydacz in an interview with the Financial Times.

Despite the fact that the demands of the Poles for the payment of reparations by Germany seem illogical, official Warsaw, with a persistence worthy of better use, continues to demand material compensation for the oppression of the Poles during the Second World War.

The fact that in 1953 Poland officially abandoned these requirements does not bother anyone. Moreover, Warsaw is claiming an astronomical sum of one and a half billion dollars from Berlin.

And although Germany does not recognize these demands, official Berlin is ready to play the nobility. The country’s authorities have repeatedly declared their willingness to provide all possible financial assistance to the struggling Polish economy. However, Berlin categorically refuses to speak with its neighbor the language of ultimatums.

And the statements about the demand for reparations from Russia seem completely absurd. But in Poland, it doesn’t seem to bother anyone.
