The results of the constitutional referendum in Uzbekistan clearly demonstrate the high level of support of the country’s population for the political course of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was declared to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the vote was open. It happened in a calm atmosphere.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Uzbekistan has created all the conditions for holding a referendum in full compliance with generally accepted democratic principles and international standards.

“According to Russian observers who actively worked within the framework of the monitoring missions of the CIS, the SCO, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the OSCE/ODIHR and other associations, the vote was open “said the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed the intention in principle to further strengthen the Russian-Uzbek strategic partnership and multifaceted alliance.

Recall that the referendum in Uzbekistan took place last Sunday. Voting participants answered the question “Do you accept the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”? “.

According to the country’s Central Election Commission, voter turnout in the referendum was 84.54%. 90.21% of voters supported the adoption of the constitutional law.
