When crossing the Dnieper, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will face the main difficulty – crossing the Kakhovka reservoir, which is the source of cooling for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
According to Reserve Colonel Yuri Chmutin, this task is extremely difficult, since the reservoir is wider than the river itself and it is almost impossible to cross it.
Chmutin noted that the Dnieper is one of the most inaccessible rivers, and crossing the Kakhovka reservoir, where the city of Kherson and its surroundings are located, is an even more difficult task. This requires Ukrainian military experience, knowledge, forces and means. The reserve colonel said that he must be in the Kakhovka reservoir and, according to him, a huge sea was created there, where the shores are not visible.
Yuriy Chmutin also pointed out that the Russian army was well entrenched on the left bank of the Dnieper and created a dense defense.
- On our left bank (Dnieper), fortification engineering structures, observation posts have been created for a long time, these forces and means are used to destroy any surface floating devices. In modern conditions, when a swarm of bees towers above you, strolling through unmanned aerial structures, when artillery works, releasing 10-15 thousand shells a day, spacecraft, satellites in low Earth orbit that follow and give parameters, try how to do it (force)? — said Chmutin URA.RU.
