Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Vatican ‘peace mission’ involves mediation in Ukraine

The Vatican’s “peace mission” is part of a series of Holy See mediation efforts to bring the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine closer. A source in the Vatican said that we are talking about the mission of the pontiff’s representatives “in the two capitals – Moscow and Kyiv”, reports TASS.

“They may be representatives of the Curia or diplomats,” the statement said.

According to him, Pope Francis at a press conference on the way to Budapest said that this initiative “is not yet public”.

It should be noted that the Holy See and the Pope have personally declared themselves ready to mediate, and the pontiff has announced that he is ready to visit the two capitals.

The pope has previously said he is personally on a mission to bring peace to Ukraine.
