China has no plans to recognize Taliban government: Ambassador

Doha: China’s Special Ambassador to Afghanistan Yu Xiangyong has made it clear that Afghanistan has no plans to recognize the Taliban government in the near future. The special envoy told an agency that China is yet to receive an assurance from the Taliban government in Afghanistan that it will not allow its soil to be used to carry out terrorist attacks against other countries. The ambassador made it clear that in the absence of this assurance, China has no intention of recognizing the Taliban government.
