Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

“It’s time to hit the pain points in Ukraine.” How Russian politicians reacted to the attempted drone strike on the Kremlin

On May 3, the Russian President’s press service reported on a nighttime drone attack on the Kremlin and an assassination attempt on the head of state, Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin called it a “planned terrorist act” on the eve of the May 9 observance and said Russia “reserves the right to take retaliatory measures where and when it sees fit.” In Ukraine, involvement in the Kremlin drone attack is denied. Russian media collected the reaction of Russian MPs to what happened.

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin “A terrorist act against the president is an attack on Russia. The Nazi regime in Kyiv must be recognized as a terrorist organization.<…>

Anton Novoderezhkin / TASS

The terrorist regime in Kyiv, having seized an entire state, threatens the security of Russia, Europe and the whole world. The politicians of Western countries who supply weapons to the Zelenskyy regime must realize that they have become not only sponsors, but also direct accomplices in terrorist activities.

There can be no negotiations with the Zelenskyy regime. We will demand the use of weapons capable of stopping and destroying the terrorist regime in Kyiv.

Leader of the Just Russia Party – For the Truth Sergei Mironov :

Press Service of the State Duma of the Russian Federation / TASS

“The assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin raises questions for Russian air defense and proves the need to eliminate “Ukraine’s terrorist elite”. The fact that drones were shot down just over the Kremlin “Well done! But how did they get here? Where’s the air defense and so on?” <…> For Zelenskyy and his junta, there can only be three options: repeat Hitler’s fate, repeat terrorist Dudayev’s fate, or face the International Tribunal for War and Other Crimes.

Deputy of the Crimean State Duma Mikhail Sheremet :

“It is time to launch a missile attack on Zelenskyy’s residence in Kyiv. Ready to give coordinates – Bankova Street, 11, where the so-called administration of the President of Ukraine is located. It is time to address the most painful points of the terrorist state that Ukraine has become today.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Alexander Khinstein :

Valery Sharifulin / TASS

“A nighttime drone attack on the Kremlin requires the immediate adoption of not only political, but also legislative decisions. <…> Obviously, there is an urgent need to develop and adopt a set of laws strictly regulating all areas of this most important issue, which is directly related to security issues. »

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Andrei Lugovoy :

Vladimir Andreev/URA.RU/TASS

“The red lines have been transformed into a polygon. Now, for sure, not a step back! Yesterday they announced “objective number one”, today – an attempt on the president. Yesterday there were threats of attacks against Crimea, today there are terrorist attacks in the Bryansk region and the Krasnodar Territory.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Alexei Zhuravlev :

“We have to aim for the center of Kiev. Destroy the President’s office, destroy the Verkhovna Rada, the General Staff and the buildings housing the Ukrainian special services to the ground.”

Member of the State Duma Defense Committee Viktor Sobolev :

Sergei Fadeichev / TASS

“I think the Ukrainian fascists have crossed the last red line, which can only be. <…> Now it is absolutely necessary to prevent the flow of equipment, weapons and ammunition through western Ukraine and Ukrainian airspace and, probably, to strike at decision-making centers, because soon such decisions are taken and strikes are launched against our centers of decision, that is to say the Kremlin.

Deputy of the State Duma Oleg Morozov :

“We need a blow that convinces the enemy, and not only in Kiev that Russia has the ability to punish anyone to death for such actions. I believe that starting today, Zelenskyy should be publicly and officially declared a terrorist. <…> It is obvious that this terrorist attack marks a new stage in the NWO.

Member of the Federation Council Alexander Bashkin :

“By itself, the stated (Kremlin) target – it just says that Ukraine has decided to ask Russia to be more forceful in targeting state buildings in Kiev, that is, the along Bankova Street, so there will definitely be an answer in this case too.”
