SAC in Myanmar announces clemency to over 2,000 prisoners on Vesak Day

Yangon: Myanmar’s State Administration Council on Wednesday announced clemency to 2,153 prisoners on the occasion of Vesak Day. A statement issued by the council said that only those prisoners who have been convicted of abetment under Section 505(A) of the Penal Code, have been pardoned on Wednesday. Prohibits direct or indirect offences, creating fear, spreading false news and agitating.
