Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Sanctions against Russia are effectively destroying the German economy

Anti-Russian sanctions work more effectively against the German economy, Klaus Ernst, head of the Bundestag’s climate protection and energy committee, said in an interview with Izvestia.

“According to the International Monetary Fund, the level of economic development in Russia in 2023 will be higher than in Germany,” the politician noted.

The official noted that Germany is now also facing the problem of deindustrialization of certain regions. According to him, investors are in no rush to invest in the German economy due to rising energy prices.

In April, German Economy and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck informed that stricter measures should be taken to prevent the circumvention of sanctions against the Russian Federation. According to several experts, by adhering to the sanctions, Germany dragged itself into the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, part of the country’s industry against a backdrop of crisis is forced to transfer capacity to the United States.
