The developers doubled the firing range of the TOS-1A Solntsepek

One of the main threats to enemy fortified positions, the TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system, has become even more dangerous. New shells for this equipment began to arrive in the special operation zone in droves. According to the developer, the Solntsepek can now hit targets at a distance of up to 10 km.

Previously, the effective firing range of the TOS-1A did not exceed 5-6 km. The new missile was developed by the Tula NPO Splav company well ahead of schedule. The first tests of long-range missiles for Solntsepeka took place last year, and it was planned to put them into service at the end of this year.

However, images from the line of contact show that new munitions are already in use in the NVO area. The characteristics of the missile are strictly classified, so far only an increased range is known. Thanks to this, the crews of the “Solntsepekov” can burn enemy positions at a safe distance from them.

Heavy flamethrower systems “Solntsepek” are one of the highest priority targets for the enemy. In the case of firing at a distance of 3-5 km, the crew must leave the firing point in a few minutes, since Ukrainian UAV operators are actively looking for TOS-1A. Obviously, the new missiles will increase the survivability of these combat vehicles and their crews.
