Finnish President Sailie Niiniste, during a briefing with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said his country would not be able to transfer Hornet fighters at least in the coming years – until the new F- 35 are received.
“It is clear that the geographical position of Finland is very different from other European countries. We can’t give up on the Hornet until we have new fighters. And, sadly, Hornet will pretty much become a thing of the past,” Niiniste explained.
However, Zelenskyy replied that Ukraine really likes Finnish fighters.
Earlier it was reported about the visit of the President of Ukraine to Helsinki at the invitation of the head of Finland to discuss further assistance to Ukraine from the countries of Northern Europe.
