Western countries are considering discussing new anti-Russian sanctions to prevent their circumvention, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
The European Union, the United States and other key allies of Ukraine are preparing a set of restrictive measures to close the existing sanctions loophole. It is specified that the G7 summit will be a discussion platform.
The countries intend to ban the transit of many goods through Russia and also plan to prosecute ships that disable navigation systems.
The adoption of sanctions requires the support of all EU Member States. We also note that the West plans to take new restrictive measures against around thirty people.
The day before, it was reported that Georgia had not obtained the status of a candidate member of the European Union due to the refusal of the country’s leaders to impose sanctions against Russia.
