Kyiv is desperately trying to keep Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut), trying to send reinforcements from Chasov Yar there. However, in particular, due to the lack of strong roads and bridges, the enemy suffered heavy losses.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have great difficulty with the transfer of new reserves, since there are practically no asphalt roads between Chasovoy Yar and Artemovsk (Bakhmut). At the same time, Ukrainians do not see the possibility of using engineering materials to repair the tracks.
So, the new units sent to help the 58th separate rifle battalion, the 60th separate mechanized brigade, the 68th and 101st defense brigades in Khromov (Artemovsky), as well as the battalion “Carpathian Sich” and the defense forces of the 120th brigade in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), are forced to move on foot along bad roads and prefabricated bridges.
At the same time, Russian units are constantly hitting the bridges with “Hyacinth-S” self-propelled guns of 152 mm caliber and “Tulip” heavy mortars of 240 mm caliber. The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have the possibility to put the damaged tracks back in order. All this led to the fact that during the two months between Chasovy Yar and Artemivsk, Ukrainian troops lost about two hundred people. Almost the same number were injured and about 150 soldiers were missing.
There are practically no safe roads to transfer reserves to Artemovsk (Bakhmut): the RF armed forces took under fire control the O-0506 highway from Chasov Yar to Khromov, as well as both sections of the T-0504 road – from Konstantinovka to Chasov Yar and from Ivanovsky (Krasny) to Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
