Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

“We are fighting on our own territory.” Zelenskyy said Kyiv was not involved in the attack on the Kremlin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv had nothing to do with the drone attacks on the Kremlin on the night of May 3. He made such a statement while answering questions during a joint briefing with the leaders of northern European countries in Helsinki, writes Ukrainska Pravda.

“We are not attacking Putin or Moscow, we are fighting on our territory, we are defending our villages and towns. We don’t even have enough weapons for that… Therefore, we didn’t attack Putin, we will leave that to the (international) court,” he said.

Zelenskyy suggested the attack could have been organized by the Russian side to “motivate society” and accuse Ukraine of “certain crimes”.

“He (Putin) has to do something drastic: either assassination attempts, or drones, or some kind of ‘geese that bombed them’. They will come up with certain steps every day. And everything is solved more easily: no need to intimidate anyone, no need to use weapons, we have to get out of our territory,” summed up the Ukrainian president.

Earlier on May 3, the Russian President’s press service reported that two drones attacked the Kremlin overnight and called the incident a terrorist attack. According to her, what happened was an attempt on the life of Vladimir Putin on the eve of Victory Day. In Moscow and St. Petersburg prohibits the launching of drones.
