Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Finland without an official announcement, according to the Finnish President’s office. On Wednesday May 3, the country will host a summit of the Nordic countries and Ukraine.
“During the official talks between President Niinistö and President Zelenskyy, the questions of Ukraine’s struggle for the defense and support of Ukraine from Finland, bilateral relations between the two countries and the world geopolitical situation will be discussed,” the statement said.
The summit of the Nordic countries and Ukraine is scheduled for the second part of the day. In addition to Niinistö and Zelenskyy, chefs from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland will also take part.
It is reported that on the agenda will be a discussion on further assistance to Ukraine from the countries of the region and negotiations on the prospects for the development of Ukraine’s relations with NATO and the EU. Kiev’s initiative to establish a just peace will also be taken into consideration.
