The defense of blogger Elena Blinovskaya is asking to change her restraint measure from house arrest to prohibition of certain actions. A corresponding complaint was filed with the Presnensky court in Moscow, reports RIA Novosti.
“The defense asks to set aside the court order (of house arrest. – ed. approx.) and to elect a measure of restraint in respect of the accused in the form of a prohibition of certain actions,” the agency said in court.
A criminal case has been brought against the author of the “marathon of desires” Blinovskaya due to non-payment of taxes in the amount of more than 918 million rubles. She was arrested as she tried to leave for Belarus on April 27. The court left Blinovskaya under house arrest until the end of June. According to the file, the woman voluntarily transferred the tax payment, but the amount was not specified.
Earlier, law enforcement warned that they could send Blinovskaya to a remand center because of the active work of curators at her marathons.
