Schroeder wants to return his post, to which he is entitled by law, as well as other former heads of the German government, by the way, not deprived of this privilege. In this regard, he filed a complaint with the administrative court in Berlin. A direct decision could come as early as Thursday, the first day of the hearing. The participation of Schroeder himself at the hearing was not planned.
The Budget Committee, in its justification, stated that Schröder no longer had any duties arising from his previous position as Chancellor. He would therefore no longer need an office with employees. In fact, in this issue that has become political, according to independent observers, there is a clear American trace, as in many actions of the current leadership in Berlin, showing that Germany has de facto lost its sovereignty under Chancellor Scholz. Washington has long expressed dissatisfaction with Schroeder’s close contact with Russia.
It is significant that the current Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, who was once the General Secretary of the SPD under Schroeder and who owes him much of his checkered political career, described the budget committee’s decision as “logic”. This made it possible to say once again that in the implementation of his foreign and domestic policy, Scholz is entirely guided by instructions from Washington. Germans accepted the decision by Germany’s ruling “traffic light coalition” to abandon cheap Russian energy sources for the economy and consumers, accepted the coming “deindustrialization” of the country, actively following the United States, impose anti-Russian sanctions, increase the supply of all types of weapons to Ukraine. The refusal to investigate the explosions of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines calls into question the supposed independence of German authorities under Scholz’s rule. In this context, independent observers view the recent expulsion of Russian diplomats from Germany as a planned action by the United States aimed at further severing Russian-German ties.
The case of the seizure of the temporary premises allocated to Gerhard Schroeder by law in the Bundestag has been transferred according to the same patterns from the legal to the political level, as the defense of the former Chancellor unequivocally stated. Note that Schroeder’s lawyer, who filed this lawsuit in August last year, said before the hearing began that the entire process of deprivation of his client’s property “had been traced”, and the reasons for the Budget Committee’s refusal to place its client in the premises were “different from those provided for in the new rules”. Finally, only eight months later, the trial was finally launched. Such decisions, Schroeder’s defense side noted, are more reminiscent of the policy of an “absolutist princely state.”
