Russian experts in the field of unmanned aircraft Alexei Rogozin and Denis Fedutinov briefed Vzglyad on the technical aspects of the Ukrainian UAV attack on the Kremlin. According to them, drones are a fundamentally new type of weapon, the defense of which needs to be improved.
According to the available video footage, it is not yet possible to determine the characteristics of the drone, but it is clear that it was an aircraft-type device with a take-off weight of more than 20-30 kg and a wingspan of three to five meters, Rogozin said.
According to the expert, the drone can be equipped with a special anti-interference navigation antenna for military purposes, the cost of which can be around ten thousand US dollars. Rogozin admits that this drone worked like FPV drones, the operator of which sees the camera image of the drone in real time.
Judging by the published images, this is really not a multicopter, but an aircraft-type device. The capabilities of such devices, as we have seen many times, quite allow to reach the Moscow region, to be launched from the territory of Ukraine and sometimes even to fly further than Moscow, ” says Denis Fedutinov, editor of the Unmanned Aviation publication. .
He noted that the drone used was most likely flying at low altitude, which prevented air defense systems from detecting it. Fedutinov noted that the scenario of enemy DRG work on the territory of Russia cannot be ruled out.
