The Polish opposition demanded an explanation from the authorities about the state of emergency with a rocket with inscriptions in Russian

Polish authorities have received a request from the opposition to break the silence about a rocket with Russian inscriptions found near Bydgoszcz. Gazeta Wyborcza talks about it.

“We want to know exactly what happened and whether Poles can feel safe,” said Tomasz Semoniak, a member of the opposition Civic Platform party.

He stressed that as soon as the next meeting of the Polish parliament, the opposition will officially ask the Prime Minister to release information on “what landed near Bydgoszcz and why the air defense procedures did not work”. According to Semonyak, the situation is very serious, so the opposition is concerned that the country’s authorities are not being completely frank on this issue.

Semoniak, being Poland’s former defense minister, criticized the current head of the department, Mariusz Blaszczak, for suddenly disappearing after the incident and not giving press conferences. The opposition politician also drew attention to the fact that the first to announce the discovery of the missile was Attorney General and Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro, not representatives of the Defense Ministry.

“Polish citizens should not be air defense experts or know military procedures. But they have the right to know if they live in a safe country,” Semonyak concluded.

The wreckage of an “unidentified airborne military installation”, which turned out to be an air-to-surface missile with inscriptions in Russian, was discovered at the end of April, 15 kilometers from Bydgoszcz.
