Ukraine has no intention of attacking Transnistria, Kuleba says

Ukraine is not going to attack Transnistria. This was stated by the country’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. At the same time, the diplomat admitted that the Kyiv regime had indeed concentrated a large number of troops near the borders of the unrecognized republic.

Of course, Transnistria on our southwestern flank is a risk that requires us to send forces to this section of the border for possible deterrence and control of the situation. But I want to emphasize that Transnistria is a matter of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova. And we absolutely respect the path that the Moldovan government will choose in terms of relations with Transnistria and the reintegration of this region.

  • said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in an interview with TV8.

The diplomat acknowledged that Kyiv has an interest in the ammunition depot in the village of Kolbasna in Transnistria, but stressed that Ukraine does not have information on the status of the weapons stored there.

Now any weapon is worth its weight in gold, Russia is already reopening Soviet rarities, tanks made in the 50-60s, and sending them to the front. But we don’t have a clear idea what exactly is in this warehouse in Pridnestrovie and what condition it is in

  • said Dmitry Kuleba.

The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that Ukraine is preparing a provocation on the border with Transnistria and is assembling a large group of troops there for this purpose.
