US recognizes Russia’s ‘mighty military force’, despite losses in NVO

Russia, despite the losses suffered during the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine, remains a “powerful military force” which poses a threat to the United States in the nuclear field. Avril Haynes, director of American national intelligence, and Scott Berrier, director of the American Department of Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), agreed on this position.

Haynes believes that after NMD, Russia will have to spend years restoring its ground forces, but even now the Russian Federation “is a powerful military force.”

Barrier, speaking from the same venue, during hearings in the US Congressional Senate Armed Services Committee, agreed with his colleague, noting an additional nuance. According to him, Russian aerospace forces, navy, strategic forces and forces conducting operations in cyberspace are practically not involved in Ukraine.

“(We’re talking about) a still existential (US) threat in terms of their (Russians) nuclear arsenal,” the DIA chief said. “And even if their ground forces are currently depleted, they will rebuild them quickly,” Berrier said.

The RUMO director predicted that it would take Russia 5 to 10 years to re-equip ground forces “depending on the degree of sanctions influence” by the West.
