Egyptian Foreign Ministry official spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Shukri assured both Al-Burhan and Daglo that Egypt would spare no effort to support Sudan in this dangerous and unprecedented ordeal. .
He stressed that the Egyptian people draw pain from the suffering endured by the Sudanese people due to the ongoing fighting, which requires all parties to adhere to the armistice in order to provide an opportunity for relief operations, to provide humanitarian and medical to those who deserve it and ensure the protection of civilians.
Shoukry reiterated Cairo’s firm stance calling for respect for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs.
He pointed out that the diplomatic contacts and efforts that Egypt is currently undertaking are based on these determinants and aim to help Sudan come out of its ordeal and provide the appropriate environment to resolve disputes through dialogue.
