Charles and Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in London in a dazzling display and ritual dating back almost a millennium.
Here is the program of the coronation ceremony:
05:00 GMT: Viewing sites along the procession route open to the public, and early arrivals will have the best spot to enjoy the show. 06:15-07:30 GMT: Guests begin arriving at security checkpoints. 08:30 to 09:30 GMT: Arrival of foreign heads of state and government, former ministers and prime ministers, members of foreign royal families and the British royal family. 09.20 GMT: The motorcade of King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla leaves Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee Carriage, first used in 2014 and pulled by six horses. The procession will follow the long Mall Avenue to Trafalgar Square, then pass through Whitehall, the ministry district, before arriving at the church. 10:00 GMT: Charles and Camilla enter the church through the large west door. Charles will put on a ceremonial robe, a long robe embroidered with scarlet velvet, and then the ceremony will begin. 11:00 GMT: Charles III is crowned. And the Archbishop of Canterbury places on his head the crown of Saint Edward, made of pure gold and set with sapphires, amethysts and rubies, and covered with a cloth of purple velvet. To mark the moment, trumpets are sounded and shots are fired at various locations across the UK. 12:00 GMT: Closing ceremony of the ceremony, where the King leaves the church dressed in the robe of his grandfather, George VI, in purple silk velvet embroidered with gold, and placing on his head the Crown of State imperial set with 2868 diamonds, 17 rubies, 11 emeralds, 269 pearls and four rubies. The procession sets off to transport the king and his queen to Buckingham Palace aboard the golden coach, a coach used at each coronation since William IV in 1831. Eight horses will pull this coach because of its weight of four tons. 12:33 GMT: Charles and Camilla arrive at Buckingham Palace. 12.43 GMT: They are presented with a royal salute by members of the armed forces in the palace gardens. Around 13:15 GMT: The king, his queen consort and members of the royal family appear on the palace balcony for ceremonial outings.
