London police reported 52 arrests for disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct and conspiracy to cause public disorder. All detainees remain in custody.
Fourteen people were arrested in the Westminster area, 13 of them were detained to prevent disorderly conduct. A man with a deactivated megaphone was arrested in St. James’s Park. Police said it could “frighten the horses”, according to Sky News.
20 members of anti-monarchy movements arrested for “wearing yellow T-shirts” alone. Several people were arrested in the morning during a non-violence training which took place a few kilometers from the coronation. Human rights groups have accused the officers of a tough approach, with one group calling it “totalitarian repression”.
The coronation ceremony of King Charles III and his wife Camilla took place at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.
